What topics or subjects will be covered in the workshop?
Our workshops usually begin with a mindfulness exercise such as guided meditation. Participants then spend some time unboxing their kit (watch their eyes light up!) We then teach the basic fundamentals of forming beautiful letters and words with ink and pointed pen. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants are given some tips on how they can carry on with their calligraphy practice.
What is the duration of the workshop?
Depending on your requirements, our workshops for corporate companies and organisations can run for a minimum of 45 minutes. Ideally, 1.5 hours is more beneficial for participants. We've also done workshops for team bonding up to 3 hours. With more time, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to improve their pointed pen calligraphy skills and savour the experience with their peers. However, we understand the need is not always to acquire creative skills but simply to give participants a mindful, relaxing, team-bonding experience.
What are the pricing options for your live workshops?
Pricing varies based on factors like the duration of the workshop, the number of participants (to factor the kit we supply), location, travel expenses, additional team members/assistants required and services. At Team Kimlligraphy, we develop tailored package deals aligned to your outcomes. Contact us directly for accurate quotes and to consider our expertise and ability to meet your vision.
What materials or resources are provided?
Participants will receive a basic calligraphy kit which includes a nib, penholder, ink, paper and practice material which we will put together for you. Some of our clients have provided their own branded boxes to hold the kit. Depending on your budget and needs, materials can be borrowed on the day or taken home by the participant.
Who are the workshop facilitators or instructors?
Kimlligraphy (Kim Tran-Flores) is the host of the workshop. There is also the option for 1 or more assistants from our team (this works well if there are over 20 participants) where they can assist with answering questions and giving participants a more personalised experience.
Can the workshop be customised to meet specific needs?
Absolutely! Feel free to talk to us about your requirements.
What is the set up needed?
A table and chair (client provides this). We come fully prepared with the equipment we need such as a PA system with a wireless mic headset, projector, projector screen, laptop, document camera (this allows participants to have a birds-eye view of Kim demonstrating calligraphy). We're happy to utilise the projector and projector screen in the room if it's available and integrates better. We will send you the specifications before the event.
Is there a maximum number of participants for the workshop?
We've run workshops with a minimum of 5 people up 50! If you have a number in mind, we can work with it.
Are there any prerequisites or required knowledge for participants?
They can be completely inexperienced or have some experience in Modern Calligraphy.
